# Usage & errors

Understand how data usage and monitoring allowances apply before building your integration.

## Data usage

The existing platform documentation states that retrieving one data result consumes one data credit, while retrieving additional details for a result does not consume another data credit. Review each endpoint's pricing or usage note, since some operations are free or have specific rules.

[Open the dashboard](/dashboard) for current plans and your available quota. Do not assume that all endpoints have the same cost.

## Ad monitoring

Monitoring tasks use a separate allowance from ordinary data queries. The platform's documented baseline is $1 per monitoring session per month. Each session lasts one month and then stops automatically. Deleting a task does not restore the monitoring allowance. Requests to existing monitoring sessions are described as unlimited in the platform usage rules.

Check the current plan and any applicable pricing in your dashboard before creating tasks.

## Check HTTP and API results

Check the HTTP response status, then parse the API response and inspect `code` and `message`. For example, the Adspy Detail documentation lists these business codes:

| Code | Meaning for Adspy Detail | Action |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 200 | Success | Process the returned data. |
| 400 | Invalid parameters | Validate required parameters, including the ad ID. |
| 404 | Ad not found | Check the identifier and handle unavailable data. |
| 500 | Internal server error | Retry with backoff if the operation is safe to repeat. |

These are endpoint-specific examples, not a universal error-code list. Consult the selected endpoint's error section for its full contract.

## Retry safely

Set a client timeout and handle network failures. Use bounded retries with backoff for transient failures. Do not automatically retry operations that create, update, or delete monitoring tasks unless you have verified that repeating the operation is safe. Never log API keys when recording errors.

## Get help

Include the endpoint URI, time of the request, and the response code when contacting support. Remove credentials and private data from any shared examples. [Contact the support team](https://wa.me/+4407734432780) for account and integration questions.
